We wrote about these folks over a year ago (click on link above) and now their road show model for a sustainable community has made it to Montclair. Tonight at 7:30 at the First Congregational Church at 40 South Fullerton Street.

I went to the discussion and i enjoyed it. They have made some progress but they have not yet made the goal of effective carbon reduction. The speaker from the EcoVillage stated that 20% of there energy goes to electricity, 30% to heating, and 50% to transportation. I am struck by how our entire society is not geared for reduced emissions. In the sector that private citizens are responsible for green house gases, transportation seems to be the bigger problem.
